Fabulous frocks recap: Week #4 Peachy Keen, Jellybean

Now as fellow pinups every time we're dressed to the nines, hair done, petticoat, swing dress, cat eyes and red lipstick etc. we get comments along the lines of "Are you in grease"? "Is there a 50's convention going on"? (not that we mind Grease is a musical masterpiece in our eyes and a 50's convention would be an awesome event to attend). Normally these comments make us chuckle or shake our heads in dismay but we decided to do something about it. So this week we decided to embrace that style to its very core by representing the three main ladies in the movie that make it unforgettable. Partly due to the fact that the comparison makes us laugh, but mostly because Kirsten went pink. Her lovely locks were the push we needed to finally do grease week, because nothings means grease than pink.(we're dying to have our own girl gang a la pink ladies) We chose the most iconic outfits of these three ladies that not only showcase their personalities but also their impeccable sense of style. Sandy's transformation from good girl to greaser chick is the most well known outfit ever, so of course we had to embrace both sides of her personality because much like Sandy we've got a wild side underneath our sweet exteriors. (as feminists we don't like the idea that she changed herself for a man but we DO like that she told him he had to change as well, relationships are a two way street after all).
.
We also mimicked two of Frenchy's most well known outfits with our own twist, gingham and polka dots are basics to us we wear them like they're going out of style and much like Frenchy we can't get enough of them. We also identify with Frenchy on a personal level we've had our fair share of bad haircuts/hair dos and plans not working out quite the way we'd hoped,we felt a little lost at one point but just like Frenchy at the end of movie we were able to find direction again. Now Rizzo is as misunderstood as they get the mean girl with a heart of gold, it isn't until her self-depreciating song that we realize just how alone and misunderstood she feels and that her attitude is just a front to protect her heart. I'm sure we're not the only ones who can relate to that sentiment, sometimes putting up walls is a lot easier than getting hurt but in letting your guard down you can make some amazing friends and lasting relationships which is exactly what she did and we did too. There's more to these ladies than catchy songs and memorable outfits, they've got character and life and we tried to portray that in our pictures this week and hope you enjoy.

Theres no denying that we're big Grease fans (rather musicals in general,we've seen them all the good, the bad, the ugly and can't get enough), we tried to do the characters and the movie itself justice and hope you enjoyed this weeks edition of outfit recaps. We had a lot of fun not only allowing our inner bad girls to come out but also show casing our love for pastels and patterns (which is limitless, really we can't get enough). We loved watching this movie growing up and singing along to the amazing sound track and oohing and ahing over the amazing outfits. Grease will always have a special place in our hearts and we hope for those of you who are the same sentiment you feel inspired to channel your inner Sandy, Rizzo or even Frenchy with whatever you have lying about in your wardrobe. If you have any comments, questions or suggestions feel free to comment below and we'll reply as soon as we can.
As always thank you for reading ,

May your days be filled with pretty dresses and a lot of happiness .
