(Grand)mother knows best!

In honor of Mother's Day we decided to use four of the most important women in our lives as the inspiration.( Not Perdita although a very fine mother,we just enjoy sneaking Disney in every chance we get). Our grandmothers (abuelas), without them our mothers wouldn't be here and therefore neither would we. Our grandmothers grew up in two vastly different areas, Kirsten's was born in Chicago while Paola's is proudly from Ibague, Colombia, despite their cultural differences theres one important thing they have in common and its the huge role they played in our lives. Our grandmas taught us many things that we will cherish forever from our love of flowers and gardens to baking  gingersnaps and arepas. We thank our grandmas for shaping our mothers into the strong independent women they are and in turn making us strong independent women also. Kirsten's mom was born in Pennsylvania and Paola's mom was  born in Bogota, Colombia, their vastly different upbringing didn't change the fact that they are amazing mothers not even for a second. Thank you to our mothers and to their mothers for being inspirational women! Mothers come in all shapes and sizes, from every corner of the world and ours are no different. They are nothing short of superwomen in our eyes, they taught us to be strong, independent, kind, hard working, intelligent women while juggling careers, marriage and parenthood. We definitely wouldn't be who we are today without them.

Grandma! aka Abuela aka Mom

Mother! Aka mom aka mommy aka mama

We decided to do outfits inspired by our grandmothers and mothers wonderful fashion sense. For our grandmothers outfits we chose dresses that they loved immensely when they were our age, and tried our best to emulate the look from our hair to our shoes. Our style is definitely more akin to our grandmothers style since they grew up during the 50's and all. Trying to choose an outfit had us swooning over all the wonderful ensembles they wore and a bit envious over their closets too. For our mother's outfits we chose ones that showed off their loving and colorful personalties, their style is more modern than ours but occasionally they choose something more up our alley. We chose these retro inspired dresses they wore and we recreated the look to show that like mother like daughter isn't just a saying. Even though they all come from different cultural backgrounds, theres one thing that runs undeniably true about this amazing group of ladies & it's that they all have impeccable style. We had a blast putting these outfits together and showing that the women who raised us are beautiful both inside and out. So here's to you Grandma's & Moms we couldn't have done it without you, Happy Mother's day !

To all the Mothers out there we want to wish you a Happy Mother's day,may it be as 

wonderful & as full of love as you are. To those of you who don't celebrate

due to a loss of a parent/child, maybe the inability to have children or the  lack of a Mom or 

Motherly figure, our hearts go out to you and hope that even though Mother's Day might not 

be the best day for you,you are still loved and cared for by others regardless of what day it is.
