Take a ride on the Knight Bus

We are huge nerds, this should be extremely evident by now what with our constant talk of Disney and Harry potter. We grew up waiting for owls to deliver our Hogwarts letter or for Hagrid to come knocking down our door and exclaim "Yer a wizard (insert name)",thats how enamored we were with the series.(Neither has happened but we figure all our constant moving made it hard for them to find us or something). We dreamed of one day being able to don the robes and learn defense against the dark arts, potions and care for magical creatures to name a few classes. The opportunity never arose but we didn't let that stop us from displaying our love for it for the world to see.We had the immense pleasure of show casing our deep love for  Harry Potter & Disney in the same weekend and it was PHENOMENAL. We relish any occasion to dress up, especially in themes because it makes picking out clothes to wear that much more exciting. So for our first joint trip to Universal we decided to dress up to represent our favorite part of the park,The Wizarding World of Harry Potter. Now deciding who or what to dress up to represent our love of harry potter was extremely difficult,we wanted people to get who we were while bringing our own flare to it as always. If the version of Harry Potter that we all know and love were set in the 50's we imagine it look a whole lot like this.

Now our decision to bound as the houses and head to universal was all thanks to Universal Knights, we mean that literally we wouldn't have been able to go any other way.(Brooms were all getting repairs, we were all out of floo powder & last time we aparated we got splinched so we're a little traumatized haha). As some of you may know we currently attend The University of Central Florida, and recently the university gave us the opportunity to wait for tickets to go to Universal Studios Orlando. We took it upon ourselves to each wait more than an hour in line in the searing hot sun to get our own ticket to Universal. (Yes we braved the Florida heat for them, because we love harry potter that MUCH).We decided right away that we needed to show off our love for the Harry Potter series and dress up as the four houses for our day in the park. Since more than one of us is from Ravenclaw (Anna, Kyra, and Kaitlyn) we had to choose wisely on whom would represent the house. Anna got the luck of dressing up in her house's colors, since she's the most Ravenclaw. Paola, being the only Gryffindor, got to represent her house. Since Kyra's personality is more Slytherin than Kaitlyn's she got to represent that house, therefore Kaitlyn dressed in Hufflepuff colors.Once that was all settled, the outfit planning began ! Everyone got a kick out of our retro take on the houses and we hope you'll enjoy it too.

Witches of the Wizarding World

We hope you enjoyed our rather dapper take on the houses. We had a marvelous time not only showing our love for Harry Potter but also being in a place with others who shared that love & became immersed temporarily in that world. It was another place where dreams really do come true, it's a must see for all you die hard Potterheads out there + we couldn't recommend it enough. Dressing up to visit the parks especially the wizarding world isn't a requirement by any means but it definitely makes it more enjoyable and easy for other witches and wizards to distinguish you from the muggles. If you do decide to go, stop by and see Mark the driver from the Knight bus and Marley the Dre head they made the night ten times more enjoyable for us.
