Ladies and Gentleman, gather round it's time for a new addition to our blog. This new series is a brilliant one about small businesses (not to toot our own horns or anything, we're just incredibly excited). It's going to be called Small Business sunday, since these businesses deserve a full day of recognition to themselves. We wanted to make our first post about this new addition to the blog to raise awareness on a weekday, so you all have something to look forward too on the weekends (we are thoughtful like that,you are so very welcome). We are avid supporters of small businesses even though our closet doesn't show that. This blog started as two college students wanting to showcase vintage inspired outfits and share how to get the looks without breaking the bank; lately we have been moving away from that and decided to focus 0n getting back to our roots. We are pinups on a budget after all and we can't wait to share some special businesses with you as well as our tips and tricks to getting the most bang for your buck. We never let the price tag keep us from achieving our wardrobe dreams and neither should you. There are so many wonderful affordable options out there that are just as amazing as the big businesses if not better,we can't wait to share them all with you. As the first small business we wanted to pick one that is just starting out like this special new addition to our blog!

REVIEW
We chose to showcase Sewing by Lilli, Lillian is a super sweet lady located in New Jersey; she began sewing as a hobby but is now making it into a business. We came across Lilli on instagram and fell in love with her skirts. We started to talk to her about why she makes them; she said that she would just make them for herself but then people started to approach her to ask where she had got them, and that gave her the idea to make it into a business. Lilli was born and raised in Brazil, but has been residing in the United States of America for almost ten years!
Lilli came up with a brilliant idea, to give the skirts an elastic band so that one skirt could fit multiple sizes! This is great because then it is more bang for your buck, you can continue to wear the skirt even during weight fluctuations (we all have it!). Lilli makes the skirts out of different materials, we got cotton ones due to the florida heat! These skirts are a dream to wear, the cotton makes the skirt easy to wear and the elastic band makes it comfortable even if you eat a bunch! Lilli surprised us with the prints, but also added a cute rick rack boarder on both which added an extra fun factor! The skirts are super versatile and we decided to show them dressed up, dressed down, and an everyday look!
Lili was an absolute pleasure to work with, fast communication, incredible workmanship and an overall wonderful persona. We cannot recommend her shop enough, she really got to know us to provide the best products possible and they do not disappoint. All in all we give her a 10/10, if you're looking for a new skirt look no further than Sewing by Lilli

We hope you enjoyed our very first small business sunday and we can't wait to show you what else we have in store. We get countless questions everyday asking us where we got something or from who and the price tag doesn't always sit well with people. Although we don't purchase anything right off hand as we've mentioned before, we want to show that small businesses are where our hearts truly lie. After all they're willing to work with us college students and provide, amazing and affordable options. We want to show you our loyal followers that regardless of where you are in life, you can make your fashion dreams a reality. Don't let money stop you from dressing wonderfully, because we promise you there are options out there for everyone and this is just one of many.
