Small business Sunday: all ears!

 

Do we like Disney? Yes! Do we like flowers? Yes! Do we like small businesses run by amazing women? YES! We have been oohing and awing over the disney ears/flower crowns trend that has taken the fashion world by storm. Especially because it combines two of our favorite things flowers and Disney. However we've had a hard time finding one that fit our specific aesthetic until now. (Aka we are incredibly picky and have specific criteria, yes we are very serious about it). So imagine our delight at sharing our latest small business sunday with you which features a lovely little shop by the name of Magical Ribbons, is a wonderful shop that sells beautiful hair bows, bow ties, hair flowers, ears, and combination flower crown with ears etc!  The owner Hayley is so sweet (we had the honor of meeting her in person), she is an amazing artist and made our flower crown ears custom made to what we desired! We chose to have ears made that were inspired by our favorite Disney characters of all time, Duchess from the Aristocats and Lady from Lady and the Tramp. We also happen to be bounding as them for dapper day, so we knew they simply had to be our favorite four legged critters. Her ears are so beautiful we're sure they'll catch a lot of attention at the parks. We also received bows of our favorite parks and showcased two different ways to wear them to show the variety of items she has in her shop and just how talented she truly is!

REVIEW

This review is a little bit different than the rest because we actually had the pleasure of getting to know Hayley aka the owner of Magical Ribbons, which also means we received her wonderful pieces in person. We spent the day with Hayley getting to know her and to say she was an absolute delight would be an understatement. She is a true renaissance woman; she can craft, dance, cast spells, become a wall (the purple wall), and so much more! The thing about Hayley that impressed us the most is her attention to detail, she put in so much work to make our headbands exactly how we envisioned! She also was genius to make the bows out of park maps! She went green repurposing park maps, and making them into something that can be used as a souvenir! The park map bows are also waterproof which is so useful in Florida's weather! 

We are going to be Magical Ribbons customers for life, because of the detail and love that Hayley puts into all of her designs. Not to mention that, her story truly touched us and made us feel honored to be able to show case her creations on the blog. We asked Hayley what inspired her to start making these wonderful pieces and this is what she said, "As a plus sized woman, I found that the pickings for cute clothes that fit me rather slim. I wanted to be able to show my love and appreciation for Disney while still looking cute and thats when I decided to take matters into my own hands. That's when the idea came about to make accessories that reflected my personality and allowed people of all shapes and sizes to wear and enjoy them". These hair accessories are going to help us step up our game! For attention to detail, range of options, and communication we are giving Magical Ribbons a 10/10!

We hope you enjoyed our fourth installment of Small business Sunday this was definitely the most fun yet because we got to know Hayley personally. We are so delighted to be making friends and also spreading awareness from this new segment on our blog. We love supporting small businesses because they deserve just as much love if not more than the more well known brands. Hayley is definitely no exception to this not only is she an absolute sweetheart but her creations are uniquely dazzling and will always be a conversation starter whenever you wear them.
