Surrounded by the pretty dresses

Have you ever spent hours browsing a website to fall in love with every single item on there? Well we have and the one that stole our hearts is known as none other than "The Pretty Dress Company". ( Yes the name is quite fitting, we agree). So imagine our delight when we finally got a chance to wear/own some of their dresses, it was certainly a dream come true. If you must know one thing about us, it's that we love pretty dresses! Florals, stripes, black, white, pink...  you name it and chances are that we love it. Now these are hands down some of the prettiest dresses we have ever worn and we couldn't think of  a better time to debut them than to the opening of One & Only Bridal Boutique a chic bridal boutique in downtown Orlando. (We're like moths to a flame when you mention pretty dresses). We weren't kidding when we said we liked pretty dresses and spending an evening surrounded by walls of dresses, well we couldn't think of a better way to pass the time. We had the immense pleasure of meeting Katherine the creator of One & Only, she was not only a gorgeous person but also a very sweet and funny lady! REVIEW

Now there's no denying that theses dresses are outside of our norm, the price point is enough to leave us second guessing BUT soon after wearing them we realized, that they are worth every penny.(As college students we usually draw the line when a dress is worth more than our monthly grocery budget, but we simply couldn't stop day dreaming about them). The price of these dresses might be hefty, but it reflects the amazing work and quality of them. Kirsten borrowed the dress she is wearing from Kaitlyn and Paola got her dress as an  anniversary present. Kirsten is wearing the discontinued hourglass dress and Paola is wearing the Priscilla Candy stripe Midi dress.


The dresses are made of stretch cotton sateen, which makes them both sturdy and breathable. They run very true to size which unfortunately means that I am sized out. 
As beautiful as these dresses are we are definitely pushing for more sizes both on the smaller and larger end of the spectrum,regardless of what size you are we should all be able to enjoy these beautiful dresses. It should be noted that according to the size chart their UK 8 is equivalent to a US 2, which falls perfectly in line with Kirsten's measurements. The size chart has a UK 8 at ,34 bust/26.5 waist/37 hips. Whereas I would need a UK 6 or smaller since my measurements are 32/21/32. Our size differences are shown in how the dresses of the exact same size fit us differently, but if you fall within these measurements they should fit you like a dream.

The difference in fit is definitely reflected in the pictures taken, you'll see for yourself. Although both Kirsten and Paola are wearing the same size, the smallest they offer, the fit is very different on us both. While it fits Kirsten perfectly being a true size small, it is almost too big for Paola to wear out. Of course we were so enthralled by the sheer beauty of them we had to wear them but, Paola will definitely have to alter mine to actually fit right. Despite us wearing two different dress styles, the fit was still the same for each dress on both of us. So for all you small dress wearing folks, it's the perfect fit for you! For the extra small and below; fingers crossed that they hear our pleas and add in options for us.



The incredibly flattering neckline, timeless silhouette, incredible construction and POCKETS did we mention those yet?! Definitely makes up for the lack of variety in sizes. We may still be harping for more inclusive size range but The pretty dress company has won over our hearts!

We hope you enjoyed our TPD review, we hopefully answered some questions you may have had regarding the brand. Since they are a a proudly made in the U.K company it may be a bit hard figuring out sizing and fit, so we did our best to address those questions. The pretty dress company dresses, that we had the pleasure of wearing are rivaled by nothing in our closet. Are they completely out of our norm? Yes. Are we saving up to get others, as we type this? Paola is! Do not let the price scare you away, we can assure you they are worth every penny and so much more. They are beautiful, incredibly well made, comfortable and long lasting dresses that will turn heads as soon as you walk into a room.
