Life's a beautiful thing, there's so much to smile about!

We here at the thehepburnmovement strive to show the diversity of pinup/vintage culture every chance we get, to show that ANYONE and everyone can be a pinup regardless of your age, sexual orientation, or race. That despite the lack of representation in the media, we exist and are here to inspire others to step out into the spotlight. People from all kinds of nationalities and identities make up this community and we aim to show that with every post. We want to highlight the wide variety of pinup/vintage loving people because they come from all walks of life, and deserve to be seen. This weeks pinup is...

CHRISSY
We met Chrissy thanks to the online pinup community, we had been mutual followers for a while when we realized that we were all local pinups. We attended an even together, to take pictures and well the rest is most certainly history.
Chrissy, is an absolute sweetheart. She's actually a local pinup we've both met and had the pleasure of working with a few times. Her charisma and bright smile fill up the room. She has an incredible personality and uses her platform to advocate change everywhere. She strives to get more representation for WOC everywhere and is definitely a force to be reckoned with. We are so honored to be sharing her story with all of you today.

When did you first get into the pinup/vintage lifestyle?

I was always a huge admirer of vintage and pinup style. In 2008, when I lived in Wisconsin, I really started to research pinup modeling and vintage events in my area. But it wasn’t until 2016 when I really started to delve into the lifestyle because I became aware of the pinup community in the Orlando area. Since then, I’ve changed my personal style and started pinup modeling. It consumes most of my free time, and I love it!

Who are your biggest style inspirations?

My biggest style inspirations are Marilyn Monroe, Rita Hayworth and Billie Holiday. I can’t just pick one because I love them all! They ll inspire me in different ways and I try to implement a little bit of each of them in my everyday life.

How does it feel to be a WOC in the pinup/vintage community?

As a minority and plus size pinup in the community, I feel that it's important for us to represent. I am both a Black and Mexican and proud to be both equally. Whether I’m competing in a pinup contest, going to a car show, or being published in a magazine, I know there are other people out there looking for someone they can relate to, and I am proud to be that person. I hope that one day there will be a better balance in the pinup community for minorities but for now, I’m happy when we all band together to support each other and promote positivity.

We hope you enjoyed this week's "Anyone can be a pinup" post. Chrissy was such a wonderful gal to meet and we had so much fun getting to know her. She is an inspiration to pinups everywhere, and advocates fiercely for WOC rights and minorities everywhere. We hope you enjoyed learning more about her, we feel honored to be able to share her story with all of you today.
