For this weeks edition of outfit recaps we decided to do a themed one. We felt that adding themes to our weekly outfits would make it all the more exciting to tie into our other themed blog posts and just honestly make us all the more excited to get dressed for school. (We aren't exactly schools biggest fans,the truth is out haha). So we're channeling Zooey this week minus the Chanel of course , because we are too poor to afford that! Zooey Deschanel is one of those modern fashion icons that everyone knows. From her quirky sundresses to her iconic black tights to her obsessive love of polka dots (which we both know all too well we're talking 14 items and counting here each ) this girl knows how to leave someone thinking! So we took it upon ourselves to try and imitate her style predominantly in her show New Girl to the best of our abilities, but still being true to ourselves! We're suckers for any chance to show off our wide array of novelty prints and extensive polka dot collection(they're timeless we tell you!). This was a rather fun theme for us because we resonate with Zooey on so many levels.
We are constantly labeled as those "cute quirky girls with big skirts and fun prints". Often times we get stopped and asked things along the lines of "Why are you so dressed up? Are you apart of some kind of show? Is there an event going on today ?" While that may phase and annoy some it makes us giggle with delight, we love that our fashion choices make us different. We consider these questions more complimentary than intrusive and invasive. Although being asked if we're actresses is never an insult in our book we always wonder what it would be like if one day we replied with "Why Yes thanks for asking , its a play titled "Our life" by Kirsten wellborn & Paola Perez". We have a feeling that may give us a bit more side eye then we'd like, but style is all about self expression after all so we'd take it all in stride. Life is too short to simply wear boring clothes instead of what makes you happy and what makes us happier than novelty prints? Nothing ! (besides Disney because I mean its disney,nothing trumps the endless happiness that it brings). We know that Zooey probably loves novelty prints more than us ,(totally not feasible we know but her collection definitely outnumbers ours) however she does also love to add her own spin to basic pieces that others would consider plain and or simple otherwise. We included outfits in here like that to show that once more ,you don't have to buy expensive pieces of clothing to dress like Zooey or even wear novelty prints if they aren't your cup of tea.Its all about finding what works best for you and making the most of it,never let anything stop you from achieving your wardrobe dreams no matter how impossible they may seem. There is always a way!

We hope you enjoyed this weeks outfit recap,we sure had a lot of fun embodying Zooey's quirky and fun style in New girl this week. Nothing beats wearing polka dots and fun prints out and about,it just makes things a little more exciting and they're definitely conversation starters for sure. Oh my goodness, those cat print dresses are amazing! I love the Peter Pan collars, too :). I bet there are people all over your uni that want to tell you how awesome you look, but feel shy. Whenever I used to see people dressed in totally awesome things, I felt that way. Now I'm totally over being shy, haha.
