It's Our Birthday!!

Happy Birthday to us, Happy birthday to us, Happy Birthday dear "thehepburnmovement" Happy Birthday to us!! (Try saying that ten times fast). Well it's not really our birthday but our blogs! We promise we aren't trying to trick you with the blog post title, we are just so excited to share that our blog is celebrating six months of being active today. We assure you that when our real birthday's come along you'll know! This is momentous for us, when we first decided to start this blog once and for all we never expected it to blossom and grow the way that it has. After all we're just two college students trying to live the pinup lifestyle on a budget, who want to share our adventures with the world. What started out as a fun way to pass the time and share with friends has become a fulfilling and rather enjoyable hobby. It's a mecca of knowledge and support, we have met SO many wonderful people thanks to it and become friends with other bloggers as well. Immersing ourselves in this community has opened up opportunities we could've never dreamed of. We are so thankful to have you here on this journey with us, whether you're just now discovering us or have been a long time reader. Our lives aren't always glitz and glamour, our outfits aren't always picture perfect and thats ok because thats who we are and for all of y'all to follow our humble little space and love us all the same truly means the world to us. So we want to celebrate with you and of course in true "thehepburnmovement" fashion, it isn't a celebration with out a theme and or  a pinch of Disney. Our theme is inspired by the beautiful art work and our new header created by the incredibly talented Anna Perez, who also happens to be our roommate/my twin. We have featured her quite a few times on the blog and briefly chatted about making it seem more personal to us since the blog design isn't our own. However we aren't tech savvy in the least or know anyone who is so creating a design of our own just isn't in the cards, so we decided on the next best thing and it's not settling at all. We've added our own personal flair to our blog and we couldn't be more excited to share it with you and do the big unveiling in style.

About the Artist

Now we know our opinion may be a bit biased seeing that she is family and a close friend after all so we decided to let the artwork do all the talking while giving you a bit of background about her. Anna was an absolute pleasure to work with, we came up with a few different ideas to help her get a sense of what we were looking for and she really tied it together. She put up with our rather unorthodox requests of mashing up our two biggest obsessions together and admittedly enjoyed doing it (after all she loves them just as much). She was completely professional, worked in a timely matter and even tweaked and added in details every time we had a new idea. We left it up entirely to her creative interpretation and it's everything we could've hoped for and more. When we first started blogging we saw a common theme among bloggers they all had something that made their blog their own and we wanted that as well, while showing off who we were and what our interests are. So as soon as you click the blog seeing the image would give you a clear picture of not only who we were but the things you'd expect to see here as well. That being said we simply knew that Disney and Harry Potter HAD to be represented in it, hence us donning our favorite princesses outfits wands in hands. Who says princesses can't like pinup fashion and be witches? Surely not us, unless you're a muggle then we have no idea what you're talking about. Although Anna doesn't typically do pinup style portraits its her Disneyesque and whimsical drawing style that made her the perfect candidate for us. We wanted something unique and no one knows her better than us,she obviously did not disappoint. Her art style is inspired heavily by Disney and early 90's shojou manga so the combination made for the perfect header for us and we couldn't be happier with it.
