Simple Magic by Ingrid Michaelson

Who says you can't dress pinup everywhere and anywhere you go?! We certainly don't and for those naysayers we are here to prove you wrong! (Challenge officially accepted y'all, watch out because we'll be bringing our style no matter where we go). A few of the statements we see get thrown out a lot are "I've got no place to wear this. Where do you ladies wear these outfits too? I'm going to look so dressed up, maybe I should wear something else. What if I'm the only one dressed like this?" You know what we have to say to that? You CAN wear whatever you want wherever you want and we promise that you'll be so much happier once you realize that. There is no special occasion to wear something, you don't need a reason, just do it!

Dressing this way has introduced us to an incredible online community and even made real life friendships, simply for dressing in a style that makes us happy. Now for those still unsure about whether you can dress pinup everywhere you go, we've got the perfect example for you! A concert and not just any concert but one by our favorite female artists Ingrid Michaelson! You can bet your bottom dollar we not only dressed in pinup style but in true best friend fashion we matched and met one of those amazing ladies we talked about for the first time. (The always lovely Trisha Cooper). We can honestly say that we wouldn't be where we are now, if we hadn't decided to throw caution to the wind and dress in a way that not only makes us look 100x better but also feel better. We hope after reading this post you'll be inspired to embrace your true selves and dress for you!

Slice of Ingrid
I'm sure you've all heard of the age old saying "Music changes lives" right? or something like that. Well regardless if you have or haven't, we all have that artist or type of music that upon hearing it completely transformed our lives there is no denying it. Ingrid is definitely that for us, she is one of the many wonderful things that helped us become who we are today, women full of self love and feel good empowerment for all. (That's not to say we don't have our bad days, we are human after all but Ingrid has a way of curing that too with just the sound of her voice). Now there are a few things we love as much as Disney /Harry potter and Ingrid happens to be one of them.

She is one of our favorite female singers of all time because of her upbeat, empowering, moving ,life changing and breath taking music plus she's just a beautiful human both inside and out! No one can deny that especially when seeing her in concert (we're running the risk of sounding too fangirly here aren't we? WELL we don't care!). She has this way about her that leaves you completely mesmerized and from the moment she gets on stage to the moment she leaves you can't take your eyes off her, it's concerts like these that make life just a little bit sweeter. Ingrid is a HUGE advocate of loving yourself in every shape/form/color/size/religion etc. and that's why we knew we had to stay true to ourselves when going to her concert. We wanted to embody the message that she stands for and inspire others to send it out to the world.

Life's too short to not wear what makes you happy regardless of what others think, or to love yourself for that matter. We know that loving yourself and wearing what you like or even doing it is easier said than done, but taking small steps EVERYDAY to reach that better happier version of yourself full of self love and acceptance truly makes a difference. Now we could talk all day about Ingrid and self love till your ears bleed and you simply have to believe us but... we''ll spare you that lecture for another day and just spam you with pictures of the concert instead.(consider yourselves lucky!)

We hope you enjoyed this look into one of our biggest inspirations music wise,we had a lot of fun not only coming up with outfits for the concert but meeting the sweet Trisha Cooper as well. Did we get a lot of stares, get stopped to take pictures, asked why we were so dressed up etc.? Yes! Did we bat an eyelash? No of course not, because this is our style and it makes us who we are. We won't apologize for being ourselves and liking what we do or dressing a certain way and we hope that we can motivate you to do the same. Pay no mind to those who try to ridicule you or make you feel like a weirdo because of what makes you happy because its those things that set you apart and make you so wonderfully you. Remember "We're all mad here" and we can assure you that's NEVER a bad thing (at least in our book).
