One night while listening to records over dinner, Kirsten had the most amazing idea (after all that's when most ideas come to us.. that's normal right?). We are HUGE music aficionados especially when it comes to the sweet crooning and jiving tunes of the past. So it'll come as no surprise to our dear loyal readers that together we have quite the impressive record collection. Since moving into the new apartment Kirsten brought half of her collection and we have been slowing going through the records listening and decided a fun way to go through it all together and share them with you! Each day we are choosing a record to use as inspiration for that outfit be it by the cover, a song or even the way it makes you feel when listening to it. This is going to be a fun challenge and we hope that you all enjoy it as much as we do, and remember that inspiration can be anywhere!
Kirsten's collection contains records spanning many decades and genres, but we decided to start with something near and dear to our hearts! DISNEY! Disney records are little gems that can be found in the most random of places, Kirsten has found the majority at second hand stores. Buying records from thrifts stores is a shot in the dark, you either find a hidden gem or not. Disney's records typically came with a book attached to the inside, but over years the majority have been torn and ruined meaning the majority of our collection of Disney records are incomplete. They might have their imperfections, but that doesn't make us love them any less!

We hope you enjoyed our outfit recap for this week, as well as a look at our rather large record collection. This is only the beginning and we can assure you that the rest will be just as wonderful. We knew we just HAD to start off with our prized Disney items because of how near and dear they are to our hearts and we can't wait for you to see what else we have amongst our collections. They say inspiration can come from anywhere, well ladies and gentlemen we are living proof of that (after all what's more random than records, am I right?). So we challenge you to once again think outside the box, go get some unorthodox inspiration and put down that phone. You don't need a pinterest board or to scroll through instagram solely to find inspiration, although we don't advise against it since we ourselves are guilty of it. However sometimes we get so wrapped up in mimicking an outfit, we lose sight of our own creative spark and thats where the rest of the world comes into play. Step away from everything and take a minute to really look around, you'll be surprised what inspires you. Who knows it could be your best idea yet!
