The art of friendship

Do you love art? Do you love Disney? If you answered yes to either of those questions then the Epcot International Festival of the Arts is for you! 2017 is the inaugural year of this new festival and we were lucky enough to go twice! The art festival offered so many different activities to participate in, from learning to draw your favorited animated characters to becoming a work of art! One of our favorite things was that you could become a work of art with your friends! We did just that! We went with our friend Trisha, you might remember her from our last Disney trip, and a new friend! A new friend? YES! Her name is Shiann. Going with friends truly made the art festival unforgettable, we can't wait to go back next year to make more memories and show you our dear readers how it has grown.

The Art Festival!

One of the things we loved about the art festival is how interactive it was, if you wanted you could take a workshop and learn a new skill, paint by numbers to help make a beautiful mural, and even pose in your favorite works of art! The art festival wasn't just about the fine arts, but also showcased the performing arts with the countless talented acts they had, as well as the culinary arts with the food booths that were only up for the event! The characters even had easels with painting near them as they met, the event showcased numerous different kinds of arts and brought people in from everywhere. There were even photo props set up where you could recreate famous paintings and of course we had to give them our own little twist.

Paint by Numbers!

We waited in line then each got to paint on the mural, now this is what we loved most it was something we all got to do together. A mural that once completed would be the collective result of us all coming together, people from all walks of life and if that's not beautiful, I don't know what is. The mural was of Epcot itself and (as far as we know) they did multiple different ones, because both days we went it was something new. It truly made attending the art festival a unique experience because you never knew what you'd see next to paint, or what booths/artists would be out on display.

Art Exhibits!

The exhibit we were most excited about was the Mary Blair exhibit, though it was small (a small small world). The exhibit contained concept art by Mary Blair, mostly for the Three Caballeros. We were so enthralled by the pieces we saw inside their, her art work truly stands the testament of time and shows the important contributions women have made to Disney's history. She's just one of the many artists we look up to and it was an incredible honor to be able to see her art work, since she helped create so many of our favorites.

Works of ART

Some of these characters were a real work of art! We tried to get a photo with each of the characters that had easels out!

Together we're a masterpiece

They say beauty is in the eye of the beholder and that we find to be true! We think the most beautiful and important thing is FRIENDSHIP!

We hope you enjoyed this weeks Disney day's post, as it was definitely a special one for us. For those of you who have been following us for awhile, you know how much we love disney and the arts. Seeing two of our favorite things come together, made these two trips the most enjoyable yet especially since we made new friends along the way. It made us appreciate art that much more and now we want to add a little Disney to every place filled with art we visit. There's no better combination in our books and we're sure after this post, you couldn't agree more! If you ever get the chance we highly recommend going, it's a festival you won't want to miss.

If you have any comments, questions or concerns or even suggestions on what you'd like to see us do next at Disney, feel free to comment below and we'll do  our  best to reply in a timely manner.

As always thanks for reading, may your days be filled with pretty dresses, dapper clothes & a lot of happiness.
