All dolled up!

As self proclaimed vintage/pinup bloggers on a budget, we strive to find the best deals despite our rather small allowance (Most of you know the college student woes). We like to showcase that money doesn't have to be an obstacle, and that's why we are proud to present one of favorite and more affordable stores in today's review for small business Sunday! Doll Me Up  is a one stop pinup store, you need a dress? GOT IT! Need a top? GOT IT! Need shoes? YEP! Cropped cardigan? OF COURSE! They have anything and everything a vintage inspired girl needs! We have been fawning over items from Doll Me Up for a while from their pleasant top to their Tootsie Crop Cardigan so this made it  exceptionally hard when we had to decide 'What first?'. If you know anything about us you know we LOVE dresses, and avidly wear only dresses. So when we saw the Hamilton Dress and Diana Pin Dot Dress we knew we had to have them! They say the right dress can truly make a woman and after trying these gorgeous dresses on, we can't help but agree.

ABOUT THE DRESSES

The Hamilton Dress is a beautiful pink and white striped summer dress with a full circle skirt. It has one pocket, button decorations, adjustable tie straps and a rope belt that ties it all together! I  (Paola) am wearing an XS in this lovely dress and though the dress itself is too large on me, I think it runs pretty true to size.  For reference my measurements are 28-21-32, so while the extra small is the smallest size this dress comes in, for someone with my measurements it certainly wouldn't fit perfectly. It's nothing a good bra and nice belt can't fix though, and it doesn't take away from my love of this dress at all. In fact, despite the spare inches it quickly become my favorite summer dress EVER!! (That's quite the accomplishment since I basically live in them). The adjustable tie straps help adjust it to your preferred length, which is a god send for those of us with smaller than average frames. I usually have to take up the straps of all my dresses, so this delightful detail and a pleasant surprise. The light and breathable cotton makes it the best dress to wear in sweltering Florida summer.  I'm wearing a Malco modes  petticoat under just to add the perfect amount of poof, however it definitely lays wonderfully without one. ( I just believe that poofy, is and always will be better).

The Diana Pin Dot Dress is a red with black polka dots dress with 3/4  ribbon tie sleeves . It  has a v-neck in the front and back as well as POCKETS! I (Kirsten) am wearing a size small, while it  fits due to the stretchy material I feel I  could have sized down. I definitely feel it runs a bit big and would advise to size down if you're in between sizes. For reference my measurements are 36-26-40, while the size chart suggests I go with a small I'd definitely prefer an extra small for a tighter fit. As with Paola's case, it's nothing the old bra and belt combo can't fix. Despite the sizing discrepancies, I have to say this dress is a huge hit for me. I love how effortlessly elegant it feels and how you can easily dress it up or down depending on the occasion. The dress is a 59% Cotton 35% Polyamide 6% Spandex which makes gives it the stretch you need for days when you eat a lot! This dress also has a built in layer of tulle! I also wore a petticoat under it for the added fluff factor and added my own belt!
