We all know the song diamond's are a girls best friend but what about fairies? Well it's wings of course! A fairy's wings are sacred and special to them, so we knew we couldn't go to just anyone to help us create ours. We reached out to Lola D's Boutique, one of our favorite small business owners who we knew was up to the task (which we have worked with before in this blog post). As you know from the previous review of Lola D's Boutique the owner is a lovely lass names Kristen from Los Angeles who by day is a graphic designer but by night is a fairy godmother who makes dreams come true. She went above and beyond to create these incredible wings for our special event and we can't wait to share the magic with you. REVIEW
While we didn't have a specific idea in mind, we did have a few needs that just had to met. One we wanted the wings to look kind of iridescent and two they had to be the focal point to our outfits, and she delivered!
They are beautiful multi sparkle resin brooches with pin backs that make them easy to wear! One of our favorite aspects of these brooches are their ability to be photographed, when we wear brooches we want them to be large enough to be seen in images but not too large to distract from the image itself.
Do not be alarmed, their large size doesn't make them heavy at all. In fact they are incredibly sturdy and light weight despite their large glittery appearance. We wore these brooches all day through out the kingdom and they didn't budge once.
We also love how special and one of a kind each set of wings is. Due to the fact that Kirsten makes these wonderful brooches by hand no two wings are alike, which meant each set was unique to the fairy just as it should be.
They are statement pieces, that truly capture the magic of us fairies. These brooches are the perfect size and looked good on everyone from Kirsten who is 5 foot 4 inches (162.5 cm) to Paola who is 4 foot 9 inches (144.5 cm).
We can't sing her praise enough,these wings are everything we dreamed of and more. They truly helped bring our disney bounds home and made every last fairy feel not only special,but also beautiful. Nothing like a fresh set of wings to help you fly.
