Picnic for two

A picnic for two? Don't mind if we do! When we think of picnics some of the little things that come to mind are baskets, blankets, gingham, sandwiches, brooches, butterflies... WAIT WHAT BROOCHES?! Thats right ladies and gentleman, brooches play a special part in picnics too or at least in this one they do! We know what you're thinking it may be a bit premature for stereotypical spring things like picnics, since for a good chunk of the world it's still cold as can be but not in Australia! The reasoning behind our picnic themed post is simply because, we recently got our hands on a couple of Erstwilder's new brooches from their picnic line.(which happens to be located in Australia, see the connection?) Upon receiving them we decided it's about time to do our first brooch review, but  knowing us we had to add our own twist which means we wanted to imitate the brooches pinup style to the best of our ability! We're quite fond of a challenge and were surprised that we actually had things in our wardrobes to mimic their outfits (not that surprised we find things on a regular basis we didn't know we had, its organized chaos we tell you). These are our first Erstwilder brooches and certainly not our last and we think after reading our review you'll become a fan too, it's quite hard not to. (All thoughts and comments expressed here are our own, we were not gifted these brooches by Erstwilder thus our opinions are by no way influenced by the company). Without further ado let the brooch unveiling and review begin!

Review

We don't know about y'all but we are suckers for cute packaging, it's that extra simple touch that really draws you in and Erstwilder did not disappoint. Their attention to detail is shown not only throughout their adorable packaging (the lines called picnic party and every box is decorated like a party inside, it really can't get much cuter) but also throughout their brooches as well. The brooches come carefully packaged and arrive incredibly quick might we add especially coming all the way from Australia. They are pinned onto the velvet surface with their little Erstwilder tag attached and a brief description of them on the lid of their box. The icing on the cake is in each box they also feature a handwritten quote as a thank you for shopping with them and a card with their information, including how to feature them on social media and get noticed. Its really the little things that truly make them special (this is true in all aspects of life, if you're reading this a little goes a long way especially in relationships trust us!), those little personal touches that show they care about their customers and it has made us all the more fond of them.

Now the brooches themselves are incredibly well made, some of the best we've ever had the pleasure of owning. They are multifaceted and multi dimensional pieces that carry a bit of weight, this just adds to them because it's their incredible construction that makes them a bit heavy and very resilient no matter what you wear them on or with. They are also fairly large and for some people this can be seen as a deterrent but for us who actually have trouble getting brooches to photograph these were our light at the end of the tunnel. (we kid you not, photographing brooches as part of an outfit is insanely hard if not impossible). They are vibrant and you can see every color and detail come to life on them on or off camera, we were amazed upon receiving them just how much they actually looked like the picture it was definitely a relief  that they were so true since they came from overseas.

(can you tell we've been a BIT misled before?). Theres no photoshop trickery or gimmicks to these bad boys, they're just as beautiful in person as they are online and we can't wait to coordinate more outfits with them in the future, it'll be fun to see the different combinations we can wear them with. We want to add that these are on the higher end of the price range with shipping not included being $14.95 for international customers, albeit like previously stated they did arrive rather quickly.(just wanted to let all you pinups on a budget like us know ,that they can be pricey). All in all for design, quality, delivery, packaging and personality we give these brooches a 10/10, we feel the pros out weigh the cons and they're worth the investment! Erstwilder has gained life long fans in us and we look forward to adding more pieces to our slowly but surely growing brooch collection. We had a lot of fun emulating our brooches and doing our first ever brooch review. Its amazing how easy one can come up with an outfit when you look for inspiration in the most unlikely of places. Never be afraid to think outside the box and try something different because you might just be pleasantly surprised like we were. There's inspiration all around you, it's all about stopping to take a look or even just taking a different approach on something.
