It's magic we tell you, it truly is! Prepare for the greatest secret of all time, the new revolutionary guide that all the girls are swearing by. (ok maybe not all the girls but we sure are). There's no more fool proof, sure fire way to expand your wardrobe than this simple trick and it won't cost you a dime! (we're not puling your leg we promise!). If you haven't noticed the trend by now "Pinups on a budget" is our mantra, we live it, breathe it and swear by it because quite frankly we can't live any other way. We're two full time students who have little to no extra money to spend and when we do it goes to books and food (all the boring responsibilities that come with being an adult, don't grow up kids its a trap!). Don't get us wrong we're thankful for the little we do have and thats why we're constantly finding ways to make the most of it and we couldn't believe it ,when we stumbled upon this gem of a tutorial. Miss Victory Violet is incredibly well known in the pinup community,not just for her impeccable hairstyling skills and style but for her lovely personality and she was kind enough to share this tutorial with all of us . Its her tutorial that revolutionized the way we see our wardrobes and made dressing up all the more exciting.
What is this tutorial we speak of you ask? Why its none other than Miss Victory violet's ingenious idea of " Dress to Skirt Conversion"! The tutorial itself is pretty straight forward and simple.So its something anyone can easily do, yet once done it makes a world of a difference. You go from having a dress that can only be worn one way to being able to be worn two even three ways ! (*hint* the third way just involves using the top of the dress as a top and tucking the skirt of it underneath something else, you're very welcome!) We see your eyes growing wide with astonishment,jaws dropping and believe us we've been there! Its something so incredibly simple yet still so very effective. We've tripled our wardrobes this way, we take our favorite dresses and wear them as skirts,tops,etc. thanks to this wonderful tutorial the options are now endless! It takes a little bit of getting used to, but once you get the hang of it,you'll be surprised just how many different combinations you can make and if you need some inspiration look no further because we're here to provide it for you.
Floral arrangements
Just like in Miss Victory violet's tutorial we wanted to show a before and after,so you can see how truly simple it is to do the conversion and how it immediately starts working its magic on our wardrobes.(We also really wanted to show off these beautiful dresses). We wanted to show case the different styles of dresses and how it can be done with anything as long as you're willing to put your mind to it. From the cut of the dress, ones three quarter sleeve and has a giant collar,the other adjustable spaghetti straps and pleated bust detail down to even what the dresses are made of they truly couldn't be any more different. They even have totally opposite zipper placements and we at first thought this would be a challenge but being the rather stubborn and fashion savvy ladies we are,we didn't let it stop us. This conversion would obviously work easier with Paola's style of dress because no sleeves are involved,over sized collars or tricky side zippers but because of how this conversion works it truly can be done with any dress making it just as magical as we promised.

Getting Carried away
Despite our carefully posed appearances(more like we carefully picked the best ones haha),the wind was not our friend this time around. One can say it got a little "too friendly" with us and we were grateful that we were up seven feet on the roof of the building where the only people we'd be flashing were each other.Despite the obvious obstacles we faced we persevered through to show you just how easy the dress to skirt conversion is with any piece of clothing you have. We also decided to match because what good is a best friend if you can't do the adorable cliche things sometimes right?(For those of you shaking your heads no,we know you're just jealous but thats ok! we still adore you).These two dresses are astoundingly different from their cut to pattern,to fabric and even the colors but they have the most important thing in common they can be CONVERTED!(now the birdie is a side zipper so this can be a bit trickier but not impossible). You've just got to get out there and experiment ,don't be afraid to try new things because like us you may come across something you love by chance.
