Do you believe in love at first sight ? Well we certainly do and have no shame in admitting it,because we've been struck by cupid's arrows & fallen head over heels in love ! (all the cheesy cliché lines in one sentence,it gets even better we promise haha). With whom you may ask have we fallen so truly madly deeply in love with ? Well its actually more of a what, FemmeDeBloom to be exact. Her accessories put the cherry ontop of any outfit, not only are they adorable,extremely affordable but they're also one of the largest varieties to choose from that we've ever seen. She's got something in her lovely little shop for everyone we're talking from Disney to the Beatles.This is our first collaboration and we are incredibly excited for it! Although not our first brooch review (you can find that one here ) ,its certainly the one we're most excited about since its our first time patterning with anyone. Now if you've never heard of her shop before, we're sure after this review you'll want to know so much more! We've been avid followers of Melanie's shop for awhile as well as mutual followers on social media and we were so honored and touched when she reached out to have us feature her adorable items on the blog.(This is what dreams are made of,hey now! Review
As most of you already know,we're suckers for cute packing. Its that extra little bit of thought that really drives it home for us,its personal and sweet + really makes us fall in love even more. The brooches came carefully wrapped in a cute little box full of bubble wrap and ontop of that she hand wrapped them herself in adorable little envelopes and floral paper.(how'd she know we love hearts and flowers so much?! She's magical we tell you).The little feminine touches made us even more excited to be collaborating with her ,but also made us never want to open them and ruin that cute presentation. Now the wonderful thing about every item purchased from Melanie's shop is its all handmade by Melanie herself,so each piece is filled with love and little bit of magic from the wonderful creator herself.
This means that there is more of a turn over time than say Erstwilder pieces or others that are manufactured in bulk. We personally found the wait time not only reasonable but fairly short considering the circumstances. She included a hand written note as well as her business card with her information to contact her which we will of course be storing in a safe place. (It's the little things we tell you).
Oh pictures do not do these beautiful brooches justice, they are thin and light weight but incredibly well made and sturdy despite that. We actually prefer the weight of these to ALL our other brooches because its almost like you're not wearing any. They don't weigh down your clothes and are securely fastened onto silver bar pins that don't slide around when worn. We were actually really impressed by the quality and construction of them for such wonderful prices. They are also the PERFECT size,they aren't too big or too small they're just right( We're the goldilocks of brooch reviews it seems). Now being thin and the perfect size means they're amazing to photograph right? You are correct,you can't even begin to fathom our brooch woes.All the struggles we face getting them to show can usually be a nightmare because they just aren't big enough,but these work wonderfully. They are exactly as pictured on the website ,we can't stress that enough ,you get exactly what you paid for and we couldn't be happier. The colors are bright and cheerful and they shine and glitter like nobody's business. They are coated with a protective layer that'll keep them in that same condition for years to come and being as clumsy as we are ,its the perfect match for us.
Now what we love most about these brooches other than the fact that they're easy on the eyes is the price. Thats right we said price because they're INSANELY affordable! For us pinups on a budget who can't afford to spend $20-$30 on one brooch these are a breath off fresh air in the brooch market. Even with shipping (this price varies depending on where you live),they're still cheaper than their competitors. These low prices do not reflect poorly on the brooches themselves at all, its quite the opposite actually. Many may find themselves pleasantly surprised at just how fabulous they truly are and that getting more bang for your buck doesn't mean you have to spend a whole lot. These brooches get a full five stars in our book or 10/10 for quality,design,price and shipping. Melanie has gained some new loyal customers in us thanks to her kindness,impeccable craftsmanship and adorable creations. We hope you enjoyed this brooch review as well as our first collaboration with the ever so lovely Melanie aka FemmeDeBloom. We had a lot of fun not only planning outfits around the brooches but photographing them too. It was a real treat to let our Disney geek side show through our accessories as well as a bit of us.
