She's a voodooed vixen

We know its winter for the rest of you all but Florida didn't quite get the memo. In fact, summer in Florida lasts for almost 10 months, so our wardrobe is full of beautiful colors and sunshine! Even if the sky's are grey you can find a pick me up if you look, so you'll see us debuting spring/summer looks all year long because that's just how Florida works. That's why we're bringing you this spring filled look to bring some of that florida sunshine, into your dreary cold filled lives. (we're joking we have no idea what winter's like, we bet it's glorious). We are reviewing Voodoo Vixen for this weeks segment of small business sunday, although a rather well known pinup brand they are still just a small business trying to get their name out there. We have drooled over their pieces for ages and were astonished when they reached out to collaborate with us. Since this was our first official pinup brand collaboration we decided to pull out all the stops and met with Charles our dear friend and amazing photographer to take these pictures. We highly recommend giving his page a look, he went above and beyond to capture these beautiful pieces.

REVIEW

Voodoo vixen is a brand out of the U.K. Specializing in vintage inspired clothing. Kirsten has owned quite a few wiggle dresses from voodoo vixen, and loves them so when we found out that we could collaborate with them we jumped at the chance. Every item from Voodoo Vixen is made out of high quality fabrics and you can feel the difference. They also have a wide range of prints, colors, cuts, styles, and clothing sizes that can suit a vast majority of shapes and sizes. Voodoo Vixen carries sizes ranging from Small to 4XL, with a Vixen Curve line for women who have those fabulous curves we strive for! What we love most about Voodoo vixen other than their wide rage of sizes is the amazing variety of clothes they offer. From the 20's-60's and even modern inspired pieces they have something for everyone and if that's not something to get excited about it, well we don't know what is. Voodoo vixen was great to work with, they originally sent Paola the wrong size but quickly rectified that which showed their great costumer service. They went above and beyond to guarantee that we were well taken care of and we cannot sing their praises enough.

 

Kirsten is wearing a size small in the Anastasia dress and I am wearing a size small in the Clara dress. The Anastasia dress is a form fitting wiggle dress which made is both sturdy and flexible enough to form to curves. This dress is one of the most flattering wiggle dresses Kirsten has owned, due to the detailed stitching around the top and waist of the dress to give it a more tailored look. For me my dress and I had a love/hate relationship, as much as I loved the details that went into the dress, the petal bust, the adjustable straps and fully lined dress, it was noticeably too big. If it weren't for a nice belt and a handy dandy push up bra, I'm afraid that it wouldn't have worked at all. Due to the incredible structure and quality of the dress, I didn't give up without a fight. Seeing as it had the print of my favorite flowers only sweetened the deal for me and I quickly forgot the sizing issues I had as I was wearing it. However I feel that it's important to note ,that for ladies on the smaller end, who are a true extra small or even extra extra small like me,that this dress won't fit you the way it should with out alterations. For reference my measurements are 32-21-32, and the small measures at 34-27-36 making it much larger on me. 

Overall we are incredibly happy with our gorgeous pieces and we can't wait to add more to our collection, for price, quality, fit, excellent customer services and construction we give Voodoo Vixen a 9.5. Now if they add more size options,they'll get perfect marks. (Lets hope they take the bait!)
